rich winter flavors
Nose:  Light hop flower

Palate:  Smoky malt but
light with sharp hop finish

full-bodied but finishes light
Color:  Cloudy Amber

Nose:  Raisin & spice

Palate:  Raisin, currant,

Overall:  Complex Belgian
spices and fruits
The results:  Two British (Lump of Coal and
CBE), two Belgian (Scaldis and Winterkoninkske),
and two U.S. (figure it out) Christmas beers found
their way into our stocking, and none lasted very
long.  Quite a bit of style diversity here, but then
again "Christmas" isn't a style (sorry Santa.)
Overall, while we wouldn't return any on the 26th,
the Winterkoninkske (brewed with juniper berries,
but not piney at all like gin) from Brouwerij
Kerkom is todays winner.  Come back Santa - and
stop by Belgium en route si'l voux plais!
Merry Goosemas!

Scaldis Noel
Winterkoninkske could never find those little novelty plates with its name on it...
With oil prices what they are, this is a great stocking stuffer
